A new Japanese OCG Rarity Collection is set for February 2027

Konami’s Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! site announced RARITY COLLECTION -CLIMAX SCENE EDITION- on October 5. The detailed product block lists a February 27, 2027 Japanese release, four cards per 396-yen pack, 15 packs per box and 80 base cards: 20 Ultra Rares and 60 Super Rares.

The theme is drawn from monsters and scenes appearing near the climaxes of the original manga and successive anime series. This is an OCG product announcement for Japan; Konami has not announced an equivalent English-language TCG release in the cited materials.

Six new cards receive serial-numbered Grand Master Rare versions

Konami says six new cards will also appear as Grand Master Rares carrying serial numbers. Those same six new cards and ten reprints are included in over-frame treatments, where the artwork extends beyond the conventional illustration frame.

The announcement does not state how many serial-numbered copies will exist, the serial range, pull odds, box guarantees or the identities of the six cards. Any claim about scarcity beyond the presence of serial numbers would therefore be speculation.

The rarity matrix is unusually broad

Every one of the 80 cards has a Secret Rare version, while 64 have Prismatic Secret Rare versions. Sixteen of those Prismatic cards use over-frame designs. Konami also lists 18 alternate-art Ultra Rare versions, 20 Ultimate Rare versions and 20 Collector’s Rare versions among the Super Rare portion of the checklist.

That matrix describes available treatments, not pack collation. Without official odds or a complete checklist, collectors should not translate the number of variants into expected hits per box.

The official page contains a date typo; the product block resolves it

The opening Japanese sentence says February 27, 2026, but the product specification lower on the same official page says February 27, 2027. February 27 falls on a Saturday in 2027, matching the page’s day-of-week label; the independent YGOrganization translation also reports 2027 and flags the conflicting 2026 sentence. BAO is therefore using February 27, 2027 while preserving the discrepancy for transparency.

Community attention is focused on the six unknown finale cards

The early r/yugioh discussion has centered on which manga or anime finale moments will fill the six new-card slots, with commenters debating whether the allocation could span multiple series. That is community speculation, not a confirmed checklist. The same thread has drawn strong early attention to the serial-numbered treatment and the all-holo configuration.

Collector checklist

Import buyers should verify that a listing is for the Japanese OCG product, budget around the official 396-yen-per-pack reference rather than an unverified resale premium, and remember that a 15-pack box contains 60 cards before duplicates—not the full 80-card set. Wait for official collation details before buying boxes on the assumption of a Grand Master Rare, Prismatic, Ultimate or Collector’s Rare guarantee.

Track future V Jump and official-site updates for the six new cards, the complete checklist, serial quantity and pack odds. English TCG collectors should wait for a separate Konami announcement rather than treating the Japanese date or configuration as a global release.
